Frequently Asked Questions
General
I use a modern, rewards based approach grounded in kindness, clear communication, and proven learning theory.
That means I mostly use rewards — like food, praise, or play — to teach and strengthen behaviours we want to see more of.
But dogs also learn from consequences.
So if a dog ignores a cue, I may remove access to something they want and set them up to succeed next time - like putting a dog back on lead if they don't recall back to me.
This isn’t about punishment or being harsh. It’s about setting fair, compassionate boundaries and helping dogs succeed without fear or pressure.
In short: no tools, no yanking, no intimidation — just smart, ethical training that works for real dogs and real families.
